AVPTRIPARISH COMMUNITY

PENTECOST SUNDAY

"And suddenly from the sky there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."

Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4

BACK TO "NORMAL"

The Governor will lift almost all pandemic restrictions next weekend, on May 29th. The Bishops of Massachusetts have determined that parishes will return to the Celebration of Mass as was normal before the pandemic on that weekend. The obligation to attend Mass is, however, not restored as of yet.

We will end the practice of reserving a place at Mass after this weekend. Thank you all very much for your patience with the cumbersome reservation system and other limitations imposed for our protection.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped during the past year, especially: those who sanitized the church after each Mass on the weekends and during the weekdays (a true labor of love); those who made streaming Mass possible (yes, we will continue to stream); those who assisted at our liturgy as lectors and eucharistic ministers; and our musicians who were so very creative in providing beautiful music for our prayer in such a safe and effective way.

SCAFFOLDING AT ST ANN

Before the pandemic, you may have noticed water infiltration around the pillars and in places on the walls. Perhaps you noticed that the cornerstone at the front of the church had cracked significantly, also due to water infiltration. What you probably did not see was the water infiltration in the two flat roof sacristies.

Obviously, we can not let that continue to occur. We are undertaking repairs, which will begin soon and last until mid-October.

More details will be on the website soon.
