Second Sunday of Easter

AVPTRIPARISH COMMUNITY
SECOND EASTER SUNDAY
Happy Easter!
Interesting. Isn't it? Thomas is called the twin - as a nickname - but we are never told who he is twin to. Why not?
What if we are meant to be doubting Thomas' twin making a deep connection in us to this event? Full of faith one minute, full of doubt the next. Happy to be a member of the community one minute, going it alone the next.
Interesting. Isn't it? In the resurrected Lord - alive and well - the wounds are still there - only the pain is gone. Why so?
What if the wounds are still there because they are what made Jesus who he is. Just as painful moments in our life actually help us dig a little deeper to become the persons we are meant to be? The wounds are both part testament and part identity. But the pain is gone!
Interesting. Isn't it? The word of his brother apostles - "We have seen the Lord!" - wasn't enough. Seeing the Lord - standing in front of him - wasn't enough. Touching the wounds ... belief. Why that?
What if some of the most powerful moments of faith come when we learn that our woundedness makes us human. And it is nothing to be scared or ashamed about or, most importantly, avoided? When we have the courage, through faith and prayer, to dare to touch the woundedness in our lives, in our world, and not shy away from them, especially from the woundedness of others, that we begin to understand the power of faith in Christ resurrection.
Then we truly RISE with Him.

The Lord of the empty tomb, the conqueror of gloom, come to you.The Lord in the garden walking, the Lord to Mary talking, come to you.The Lord in the upper room, dispelling fear and gloom, come to you.The Lord on the road to Emmaus, the Lord giving hope to Thomas, come to you.
The Lord appearing on the shore, giving us life forever more, come to you.

Blessed are you, Creator and giver of peace. Peace be upon us; peace be upon this place; peace be upon this day. The deep, deep peace of God, which the world cannot give, be upon us and remain with us always.

NEW TRIPARISH WEBSITE
In order to better serve the needs of our three parishes we have created a new website:
. It is still a work in progress, but we are chipping away. Any suggestions for additions, changes, help, etc., would be gratefully received.
LIVE-STREAMED MASS
We live-stream the 4:00pm Saturday Evening Mass. It is also available to view at your convenience. Just visit our website
.
NEW SERVICE AVAILABLE TO ALL PARISHIONERS FOR FREE
We have subscribed to the service
FORMED
from the Augustine Institute. It is freely available to all parishioners of our parishes.
"Discover thousands of books, audio talks, movies, documentaries, and studies... there is something for every member of the family to help them grow closer to Christ and His Church."
From the publisher.
It is especially rich in material for children and young adults. We hope to make use of their resources in our Faith Formtion program and for marriage preparation an RCIA.
When you first access the site, you will be asked to find your parish. Type
St. Ann Lenox.
(Sorry, we needed to provide one name.) Next, you will be asked to provide your name and email address. You will then be taken to the FORMED site and have full access. From then on, to access the site, click on "Are you a member? Sign In" on the upper right-hand side of the sign-in pane.
Everything is free for your use EXCEPT those items listed under the RENT/OWNED drop down list in the Navigation Bar. After you register you will receive an email from them periodically, like the one below, alerting you to movies, etc. that might interest you according to the season or Holy Day or issues in the Church. You can unsubscribe from the emails without losing your access to their site.
